Already published or in effect

A good calendar starts with what has already happened, because those items are the ones teams most often miss. IMDA released its Model AI Governance Framework for Agentic AI in January 2026, with an update reported in May. The Cyber Security Agency finalised its Securing Agentic AI addendum in June 2026. The Online Safety Commission began operating on 29 June 2026. MAS published its final AI Risk Management Guidelines on 7 October 2026.

In the Budget, announced in February 2026, the Enterprise Innovation Scheme gives an enhanced deduction for qualifying AI expenditure up to a cap in the 2027 and 2028 years of assessment, and a National AI Council was announced.

Coming up

Several items are scheduled or reported. ASEAN's digital economy agreement is targeted for signing in November 2026, with ratification and implementation afterward. The PDPC's generative AI advisory guidance was consulted on in June and July 2026, with a final version reported in July but not confirmed here. InvoiceNow is phased: new GST registrants since late 2025 and from 1 April 2026, with a broader rollout reported for roughly 2028 to 2031 and IRAS notifying businesses of their dates. MAS implementation dates for oversight and lifecycle controls are reported by secondary sources as October 2027 and October 2028, which should be confirmed on the MAS page.

Dates marked as reported come from secondary sources. Confirm them with the regulator before building a plan around them.

How to use the calendar

Assign an owner to each row that applies to you, and add a check date. For each item, decide whether the action is monitoring, a gap assessment, or a build. Link rows to the underlying articles and documents so a new team member can see the reasoning.

Support schemes have also changed during 2026, so check current scheme names and eligibility on official pages.
